Artist’s CV

Opi Zouni was born in Cairo, Egypt on February 4, 1941, while in 1963 she settled in Athens. Her family came from Crete and Santorini. In Cairo he studied painting, ceramics at the American College as well as photography. In Greece, she continued her studies at the School of Fine Arts, enriching them with scenography and decoration. Its professors include Yiannis Moralis, Giorgos Mavroidis and Vassilis Vassiliadis.
She held her first exhibition in Cairo in 1962. In total she held over 70 individual exhibitions and 450 participations in group exhibitions. He had also participated in international Biennales and Triennales. At the end of 2006 and beginning of 2007 he held a large retrospective exhibition at the Museum of Cycladic Art. This exhibition was entitled: “The present and the last twenty years”.
He was a representative of geometric art in Greece. Her creations were influenced by Arab culture, but also incorporated Greek elements. She was married since 1965 to Alekos Zounis, with whom she had two sons. He died of cancer, which he had been battling for twelve years.
