Artist’s CV
The painter Angelos Panagiotou was born in Farkadona in Trikala in 1943. He studied at the School of Fine Arts next to Giorgos Mavroidis (1962-1967). Overcoming the artistic trends of his time, he seeks to reconnect with the great models of the past (Renaissance and Baroque for the most part) and their style.
His work is anthropocentric and realistic, combined with the supernatural light, which changes the elements of the painting in self-illumination, as seen in the anti-naturalistic dark font, offered an ideal model that reflects his realistic mood and idealistic tendencies of , as he had the intention to overcome the temporary and find the ideal timeless and through the current enchanting means.
The subjects he deals with mostly focus on the human form and nature. In terms of the human form, as in the multifaceted combinations, mostly in portraits, the result is of a high standard with an excellent result. Many paintings by Angelos are in public and private collections in Greece and abroad.
