Apergis Antonis

Antonis Apergis was born in Athens in 1938 and died in 2018.
From 1958 to 1962 he studied at the Athens School of Fine Arts, with a scholarship from the State Scholarships Foundation (I.K.Y), painting with Yiannis Moralis and engraving with Konstantinos Grammatopoulos.
From 1966 to 1970, again with a scholarship from I.K.Y, he studied mosaic and fresco at the School of Fine Arts in Paris.
He has presented his work in many solo exhibitions in Athens and Thessaloniki and has also taken part in many group exhibitions in various cities, in Greece and abroad, such as Rome, Beirut, Paris and Chicago.
He has been honored with various distinctions and awards from time to time and taught painting (Drawing – Color – Composition) for many years in Graphic Arts schools and in the School of Conservation of Works of Art of the Technical and Technological Educational Institutions of Athens.
He worked with theater sets, with book and magazine illustrations.
His works are in the National Gallery, the Bank of Greece, the Goulandris Museum of Contemporary Art in Andros, the Vorres Museum, the collection of the Ministry of Culture, the Kotopoulis Museum, the Kalamata Museum and in public and private collections in Greece and abroad.
