Dimitris Koukos is a painter, who in his every effort seeks to redefine the aesthetic experience and the poetic interpretation of the world. His painting could narrowly be considered as topography and even abstract or lyrical. In essence, it is a metachemistry, a recording, not of the physical image or visual aesthetics, but of physical energy and visual revelation. In his paintings, morphoplastic microcosms explode, while his broad brushwork builds the forms with a musical feeling. There is no darkness or shadow in Kouko’s world. only light. Light is substituted in colour and takes over to create the world of images, the universe of forms.
