Artist’s CV
Born in 1913, Ioanna Mitsea – Malamou studied painting at the Athens School of Fine Arts with her teachers: P. Mathiopoulos, O. Arguros and K. Partheni Her large body of work includes multi-faceted scenes from everyday life, landscapes and still lifes. Her favourite subject, however, was pastel florals. In her compositions she adopted an academic realist style, while certain elements related to the conquests of the post-impressionist artistic movements are also recognised. For her contribution she was awarded the Medal of the City of Paris (1969), the Medal of the Municipality of Athens (1973) and the Medal of the Municipality of Piraeus (1976).
