Artist’s CV

Andreas Karampelas was born in Athens in 1945. He attended painting classes at the workshop of Panos Sarafianos in 1964-1966 and then at the Athens School of Fine Arts until 1968, when he left the School to continue his studies freely and work on visual applications. At the same time, he studied Ancient Greek vase painting and sculpture in the Archaeological Museums of Athens and Heraklion, Crete.

He holds a PhD in Law from the University of Athens (History of Law), works as a lawyer and researches late Greek and Roman antiquity.

He has held 20 solo exhibitions (Athens, Piraeus, Trikala, Livadia, Syros, Karditsa, Nicosia, Stockholm, Helsinki, Washington, etc.) and has taken part in many important group exhibitions.

His works are in many galleries and private collections in Greece and abroad.
