Apostolos Yayannos was born in Tripoli, Arcadia in 1945.
In 1960 he settled in Athens. He studied Graphic Arts at A.T.I. with their teachers: A. Tasso, H. Dekoulakos, D. Mytara. In 1968 he founded and directed the “Form” Applied Arts Laboratory. In 1974 he left Applied Arts and devoted himself to painting. He has held 53 individual exhibitions in Greece, France, Belgium, England, Spain, Cyprus.
He has taken part in group, thematic exhibitions in Greece, Cyprus, USA, Canada, Australia, England, France, Belgium, Italy, Holland, Germany, Switzerland, Spain, Iceland, Bulgaria. He has illustrated books by Greek authors. He published literary texts in various magazines.
He dealt with the folklore and visual arts of the Shadow Theater (“Figures”, “Scenics”, Hermes Publishing 1975-1976). 200 is published by Kaktos, his novel, “Good Bye Forever”.
His works can be found: in the National Gallery, in the Ministry of Culture, in public and private museums, in private collections in Greece and abroad. His works have been listed in the catalogs of Sotheby’s and Christie’s in London and Amsterdam. He lives and works in Athens.
