Artist’s CV
Stavros Bouranis was born in 1946 and is a self-taught painter. The art of painting occupied him since his childhood, whence the first searches began. From the beginning he wanted to leave photographic painting and begin the path of personal creation. That’s how it happened.
In search of professional rehabilitation his studies were unrelated to painting. But he quickly realized that he would not be able to do what he wanted. That is why he devoted himself completely to her. And that he had to work a little harder than he needed to and love it a lot more.
But his works have the special personal stamp of creation. They are mainly distinguished by the harmony of the color, the brightness, while in the rendering of the forms one sees the expression and the movement.
He does not capture what he sees but based on the stimuli he captures his subjects on the canvas in a unique and characteristic way.
Since 1974, he has been creating with persistence and with a continuous evolutionary path.
In at least forty years of dedication to painting, he managed about 40 individual exhibitions and about 100 group exhibitions. He took part in many Panhellenic exhibitions as well as Panhellenic seascape exhibitions. Many of his works are in private collections in public organizations in the galleries of many City Halls throughout Greece as well as many of his works are found abroad.
