George Manousakis was born in 1914 in Heraklion, Crete, where he spent his childhood and student years. He was a painter, engraver, publisher, writer, historian, photographer, filmmaker and critic. He started painting at a very young age, as he had at his disposal paints from his father’s merchant’s shop.

George Manousakis, one of the most remarkable painters of the generation of the ’30s, studied at the School of Fine Arts with teachers O. Argiros, Κ. Parthenis and G. Kefallinos.

• Screen printing is the exact reproduction of limited copies of an original work.
• For reproduction, a silk grid is used stretched on a crate, hence the term Silkscreen, and as many crates as the colors of the work are used.
• The papers used for reproduction are cotton handmade 280-300gr type Fabriano.
• After the reproduction, the crates are destroyed by the painter to ensure the collectibility of the work.
• The Silkscreens are signed and numbered in pencil by the painter (numbering on the left and signature on the right) and are accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
