George Rorris
George Rorris was born in Kosmas of Kynourias in 1963. He studied Painting at the Athens School of Fine Arts with Panagiotis Tetsis and Yannis Valavanidis (1982-1987). He continued his studies at the École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris with Leonardo Cremonini (1988-1991), with scholarships from the Basil and Elise Goulandris Foundation and the P. Bakala.
He collaborated with the Centre for Arts and Letters Apopsi (1996-2002) and since 2002 she has been working with the art group “Point”, teaching painting. In 2001 he was awarded the Athens Academy of Fine Arts Prize for a young painter under 40 years of age. In 2006 he was awarded an honorary distinction for his work by the Alexander S. Onassis Foundation. From his first solo exhibition in 1988 until 2017 he maintained a permanent collaboration with Medusa Art Gallery. His works are in important public and private collections. He lives and works in Athens.
