Artist’s CV
Petros Zoumboulakis was born in Athens in 1937. He studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts under Yannis Moralis (1956-1961), with a scholarship from the I.K.Y. in all years of study. He graduated with many distinctions. After graduating from the painting workshop, he studied Set Design, Decoration and Advertising at the Training School of A.S.K.T. close to Vassilis Vassiliadis (1962-1964), also with distinctions. He studied Byzantine and Folk Art in Greece with a scholarship from the I.K.Y. (1964-1965).
He organized thirty-five solo exhibitions in Greece while taking part in many important group exhibitions in Greece and abroad. He represented Greece at the most important international Biennale.
From 1961, in addition to painting, he worked for theater and cinema, designing sets and costumes. He collaborated with state theaters and independent troupes. He taught art courses at the TEI of Athens, School of Decorators ATO-Doxiadis, Scenography at the Vakalos Schools, etc.
His works are in the National Gallery, in the collections of the Ministries of Education and Culture, in the Pieridis and Vorre Museums, in the collections of Antoniou, Vergou, Ioannidis, Moshandreou, Kangelari, etc. as well as in the collections of the Banks: National, Alpha Bank, Emporikis, Agricultural, Ionic, Postal Savings Bank and in other private and public collections and museums in Greece and abroad. Also in the Galleries of many Municipalities of the country as well as in the Gallery of the Parliament.
