Artist’s CV

Palantzas Christos was born in Larissa, 1962.

1983-89 Studied at A.S.K.T. of Athens painting with professors D. Mytaras, D. Kokkinidis and N. Kessanlis, technique of Byzantine icons (hagiography), fresco painting (fresco) with professor K. Xinopoulos, and mosaic with G. Valavanidis. History of art with professor M. Lambraki-Plaka, history of Architecture and Rhythmology with professors I. Karatzoglou and S. Kontarato. Introduction to Aesthetics, Art theory and Philosophy with professor P. Christodoulidis. Educational Psychology and didactic with professor Danasis-Afentakis.

1990-92 With a scholarship from the French government, he continued his postgraduate studies at the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris under Pierre Carron.

1988-90 He worked as a painter and museum educator in the educational programs of the Ministry of Culture THE BIRTH OF WRITING.

1992-93 He taught painting in the first three classes of the 25th Primary School of Perissos.

1997-98 He taught drawing and painting in the Applied Painting department at AKTO schools.

2011-13 Worked at the Child Psychiatry Clinic of the “Agia Sophia” University Children’s Hospital as an art-therapist in the Mental Health Promotion program for children and adolescents with chronic physical illness.
He gives private painting and drawing lessons to prospective students of the School of Fine Arts.
His works are in the National Gallery, the Florina Gallery, the Kouvoutsakis Gallery, the Frisiras Museum, the collections of the Agricultural Bank, Papastratos, AGET Heraklis and other public and private collections in Greece and abroad.
He has designed many calendars for private companies and was chosen among the most important Greek Artists to represent contemporary Greek Art with his work during the 2004 Olympic Games.
