Alexandros Papakonstantinou (born in Neo Faliro in June 1952) is a Greek contemporary painter. He studied painting and art history in Athens (Pierce College 1970-73) and in Rome (Istituto Restauro 1975-78). The artist’s work consists of two sections, the semi-representational and the abstract geometric, His painting is semi-representational, but with a special emphasis on selected realistic elements and a particular respect for detail. Also decisive in his works is the role of the background, which most often coexists with his main subjects.
