George Sikeliotis (1917-1984) is one of the most important Greek painters and engravers of the so-called “generation of the ’30s”.

He was born on February 4, 1917 in Izmir, Asia Minor. In 1922, with the Asia Minor catastrophe, he came to Athens and settled with his family in Kaisariani. He studied at ASKT, from 1935 to 1940, where he had teachers Konstantinos Parthenis and Spyridon Vikatos. From his student years, he began to present his works in group exhibitions. Specifically, in 1936 he participated in the 1st Annual Exhibition of School of Fine Arts Students and in 1938 in the group exhibition of Young Realists in Athens. Works from this period are now in the National Gallery.

• Lithography is the exact reproduction of limited copies of an original work.
• For reproduction, a silk grid is used stretched on a crate, hence the term Silkscreen, and as many crates as the colors of the work are used.
• The papers used for reproduction are cotton handmade 280-300gr type Fabriano.
• After the reproduction, the crates are destroyed by the painter to ensure the collectibility of the work.
• The Lithographs are signed and numbered in pencil by the artist (numbering on the left and signature on the right) and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
