He was born in Piraeus in 1912, son of the Cypriot Gaston Mavroidis and the Lefkadite Zoi Theocharis.
He studied law and political science at the University of Athens, where he met Yannis Tsarouchis, with whom he maintained friendly relations.
Although he showed an aptitude for painting from an early age, he remained self-taught.
In 1946 he entered the Diplomatic Corps and in the same year he travelled to Egypt. There he married Alexandra Thomaidis, with whom he had a daughter.

In 1948 he began his exhibition activity with his participation in the exhibition of “Armos” and in the 1st Panhellenic Exhibition at Zappeion together with:
Lili Arliotis,
Lili Linali, Lili Araliotis, Lili Aralios,Yannis Mitarakis, Yannis Mitarakis,
Theophrastos Triantaphyllides, Lili Miniatrias, Yannis Metarakis, Yannis Maliartakis, Yannis Maliartakis, Theophrastos Maliartakis, Theophrastus Triandafyllidis, etc. .
In 1950 he was appointed secretary general of the Greek consulate in Athens.
He was appointed the Secretary General of the Greek Consulate inParis, having the opportunity to study classical art, Renaissance and later European painting, while he met important Greek artists such as Nikos Hadjikyriakos-Gikas, Andreas Embiricos and in Antibes he met Pablo Picasso. In 1959, when he was elected professor of painting at the Athens School of Fine Arts, a position he held until 1982, he resigned from the Diplomatic Corps.

  • Lithography is a printing technique which was invented around 1798 by A. Alois Senefelder, based on the fact that water and fats are never mixed.
  • The subject or performance is drawn with greasy chalk on stone (porous limestone) or tin plate and then dried. When water runs on the designed surfaces, the greasy ink “catches” only in the places that are engraved and not in the wet stone.
