Christos Karas was born in Trikala, Thessaly on December 9, 1930. After short studies at Panteion University (1948-1950), he enrolled at the Athens School of Fine Arts (1951). He received his diploma (1955) and with a scholarship from the Foundation for State Scholarships (1957) he studied fresh at the Paris School of Fine Arts for three years. He lived in Paris until 1963. He also travels to Belgium, the Netherlands, Spain, Italy and England. He later traveled extensively to Venice, Basel, Kassel, Brussels and Berlin, attending major international exhibitions.

Upon his return to Greece, he actively participated in the effort to create a contemporary artistic climate, with many solo and group exhibitions, television appearances and interviews in newspapers and magazines. He also founded with other artists the group “Tomi” (1963) and the “Association of Greek Artists” (1976). In 1984 he represented Greece at the 41st Venice Biennale. In 2001 the Academy of Athens awarded him an award for all his work.

• Screen printing is the exact reproduction of limited copies of an original work.
• For reproduction, a silk grid is used stretched on a crate, hence the term Silkscreen, and as many crates as the colors of the work are used.
• The papers used for reproduction are cotton handmade 280-300gr type Fabriano.
• After the reproduction, the crates are destroyed by the painter to ensure the collectibility of the work.
• The Silkscreens are signed and numbered in pencil by the painter (numbering on the left and signature on the right) and are accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
