Yiannis Adamakis was born in 1959 in Piraeus. He combined studies in Economics and Painting. He has presented his work in 33 solo and many group exhibitions in Greece, Belgium, France, Germany, Cyprus, Poland, Russia and Turkey. He has also participated in three international art meetings: in Cherepovets (Russia), in Bielefeld (Germany) and in Kusadasi (Turkey). His texts have been published in magazines, newspapers and art catalogs. From 1989 to 1999 he taught painting in the schools of the Municipality of Keratsini (adult classes). At the same time he was a member of the Cultural Committee and advisor to the Municipality in matters of Art. He lives and works in Athens.

His works are in many private collections in Greece and abroad, in the National – Kapodistrian University of Athens, in the collection of the United States Embassy in Athens, in the Municipal Galleries of Agrinio, Athens and Kalamata, as well as in the Macedonian Museum of Contemporary Art.
