Kostas Manolatos was born in Athens in 1958.
He studied painting in Athens
In the early years of his career, he experimented with themes, colors and materials. His love for the landscape and sea of his homeland became the main inspiration for his creations. His seascapes are lively, rendered with passion, almost poetic. The constant search for a different expression and aesthetic leads him to diversify classical art. He uses various techniques with the aim of rendering the color gradations and emphasizing the texture of his work.
His paintings are characterized by freedom of expression, adequately rendering subjects that stimulate his interest, changing the ways of approaching subjects that, for others, go almost unnoticed.
Gradually, he adds to his creations other, more modern materials – metal, plexiglass, etc. -, creating three-dimensional works of art, always inspired by Greece – by its landscape, its sea, its sun.
He has participated in group and solo exhibitions in Athens, Cyprus, Turkey, Switzerland. Many of his works are in private collections.
