Artist’s CV
Christos Kechagioglou he was born in Thessaloniki in 1960.
He studied Civil Engineering at the Polytechnic School of Thessaloniki, while simultaneously attending painting classes under Nikos Sachinis. Subsequently, he studied Film Direction in Athens, and finally completed his postgraduate studies in the Philosophy of Art at the Sorbonne University in Paris, focusing on the relationship between cinema and painting.
He has directed dozens of films and video works that have been screened at the Thessaloniki International Film Festival, as well as other major European festivals, museums, and art galleries.
He has presented his painting work both in Greece and abroad, through 41 solo exhibitions and more than one hundred group exhibitions. In 2014, the Cyclades Art Gallery, in collaboration with the Zoumboulakis Galleries, organized a major retrospective exhibition of his work in Syros. On the occasion of this exhibition, his book titled With Eyes Facing Inward was published by Kritiki Publishing.
His work is featured in dozens of books, exhibition catalogues, music albums, and on the covers of many prominent publishing houses. His artworks are held in art galleries, museums, and major private and public collections in Greece and abroad.
