Artist’s CV

Iason Economopoulos, born in Athens, lived for many years in Piraeus, with which he was associated in many ways. He took painting lessons with the painter Takis Bakopoulos. He then studied set design and costume design at a private school in Athens. For a while, he worked as a set designer and decorator in various theaters in Athens and on television. However, his love for painting prompted him to abandon them and devote himself exclusively to it. His painting creations were equally successful, so much so that today he is an accomplished professional painter. He has presented his paintings in many solo and group exhibitions. In his painting, he has adopted a style that is related to the Baroque style, adapted to Greek conditions. He is one of the few painters of our time who continue the long tradition of classical art. With methodically constructed ensembles, with clear outlines, with the correct use of contrasts, with detailed narration, he composes paintings that are reminiscent of the incomparable achievements of the great masters of the genre.
