Chantzaras Apostolos (APOS)
He was born in Agrinio in 1977. Since childhood, he studied and worked in the Byzantine Painting studio alongside his father, the important icon painter Eleftherios Chantzaras.
He studied painting at the Athens School of Fine Arts with Chronis Botsoglou as his teacher. He also studied mural painting and photography at the Athens School of Fine Arts. He received a scholarship from the Hellenic National Fund in 2000-2003. In 2004-2005 he studied in Paris. In 2008 he painted the special series of stamps “Greek Traditional Products” for the Hellenic Post Office. In 2011 he designed the cover for the novel “Glass Industry” by Menis Koumantareas, the cover for the novel “Fantasy Adventure” by Alexandros Kotzias, Kedros Publications and in 2013 the cover for the novel: “Olga or Nothing” by Leto Pitiri, Kedros Publications. He has participated in the theatrical performance “Aias” in 2023.
He has also participated in many personal and group exhibitions in Greece and abroad, especially in the United States. He lives and works in Athens, London and New York. His paintings are in private collections.
