Dimitris Asprogiannis
He was born in Lamia in 1968 and comes from Agios Georgios, Evrytania. He spent his early school years in Boston, USA, where he initially utilized his innate talent for painting.
In the late 70s, he settled permanently with his family in the city of Agrinio.
An important milestone in the development of his artistic maturity was his acquaintance with the distinguished painter Dimitris Koutsospyros.
He received his first lessons in drawing and color from him. His restless artistic spirit led him to make many educational trips to America, where he met famous painters and observed their work closely.
In recent years, he has been living and creating artistically in Agrinio.
With a special love for Greek nature, he is inspired and draws his themes from inaccessible shores and beaches of the Ionian and Aegean Seas, which he himself chooses by spending many hours in the open air, studying light and its fluctuations in nature.
He uses a clear representational dialect with a rich color perception along with excellent perspective and disarming immediacy in approaching light in nature, the clarity of colors in seascapes and the sense of depth.
He has held three solo exhibitions:
-At the Megaron of Speech and Art of Patras 1990.
-At the Art Hall of the Municipal Theater of Lamia 1991-1994.
